QUEZON CITY – In a surprising turn of events, newly installed House Speaker Faustino ‘Bojie’ Dy III has issued a formal notice revoking the travel clearance of Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co, effective immediately.

The notice, dated September 18, 2025, directs Rep. Co to return to the Philippines within ten calendar days, citing the existence of "pressing national matters requiring your physical presence." This move comes as political circles buzz with talk of Rep. Co's alleged links to an anomalous flood control project, a matter that could now be brought to the forefront.

The abrupt revocation has raised support from other members of the house, particularly given that Representative Co held the influential position of Chairman of the Appropriations Committee during the 19th Congress.

The official letter explicitly states that failure to comply with the directive will be seen as a "refusal to subject yourself to the lawful processes of the House of Representatives" and may lead to disciplinary and legal action. This stern warning underscores the gravity of the situation and suggests a serious inquiry is on the horizon.

With the deadline for Rep. Co's return fast approaching, the political landscape is bracing for a potential showdown. The Speaker's decisive action signals a strong intent to address the allegations head-on and ensure accountability. As the public awaits further developments, all eyes are on the House of Representatives to see what steps will be taken to address the pressing matters that necessitated the representative's immediate recall.
