The UNTV Volleyball League Season 3 Most Valuable Player award gracefully awarded to Tin Bangcola, the exceptional setter from the PNP Lady Patrollers. Her leadership and masterful playmaking were instrumental in securing the championship for her team.
A former standout player for the Colegio De San Juan De Letran, Bangcola showcased her deep understanding of the game and her ability to elevate her teammates, proving why she is considered one of the best in her position.
Bangcola's journey to MVP honors was marked by a moment of immense courage and dedication. After sustaining an injury in Game 2 of the best-of-three finals series against the BFP Lady Firefighters, her physical therapist advised caution, highlighting the significant risks of playing in the do-or-die Game 3.
However, with the championship on the line and her team needing her most, Bangcola defied the odds, choosing to push through the pain and step onto the court.
“Sabi kasi ng PT ko, pag naglaro ako, sariling risk…yung ACL ko kasi way back 2022 pa s’ya, so after nung game 2, nag-therapy ako for some days and actually after nito mag-MRI na ako kasi hindi natin sure kung ano na nangyari sa ACL injury ko but sabi ko nga irrelevant kasi do-or-die na talaga literal so kahit masakit, ang sakit talaga kanina pa actually, di ako makatakbo pero kailangan ko kasi kailangan ako ng team ko. I had to be there kaya tyinaga ko.”, Bangcola shared in an interview after the championship game.
Bangcola said she is hopeful for the next season and promised to defend the crown at all costs.
“Hopefully, next season we will be able to maintain the championship, we will defend the crown at all costs.”
Her presence alone was a massive boost for the Lady Patrollers, but it was her performance that truly solidified her MVP status. Despite the injury, Bangcola continued to orchestrate the PNP offense with precision and grace, delivering crucial sets and inspiring her team to victory. Her heroic effort not only led the PNP Lady Patrollers to their much-deserved UVL Season 3 title but also etched her name into the league's history as a true testament to resilience and the indomitable spirit of a champion.
