The inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup campaign for the Filipina5 has concluded, but far from a mere exit, their performance has been hailed as the powerful start of a new national sporting legacy. Competing on home turf against the world's futsal elite, the team secured their place in history with a landmark goal against one of the most formidable international opponents.

This single moment, emblematic of the team's emerging potential, showcased that a Filipina athlete can indeed shine on the global futsal stage and has set an electrifying new standard for the sport in the Philippines.

The team’s journey has been framed as a crucial spark for the sport's development, receiving strong backing from national sports leaders.

Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Pato Gregorio emphasized the importance of sustained engagement, stating, "We want to develop futsal because we believe that a Filipina can excel in making the country shine. Don’t stop playing – the key is continuity to convince millions of Filipinos to play and love the sport.”

Philippine Football Federation President John Gutierrez echoed this sentiment, encouraging the squad that this World Cup appearance is just the beginning.

Competing fearlessly against international powerhouse teams provided the Filipina5 with invaluable experience and a major boost in confidence. Their performance served as a powerful testament to the untapped talent within the nation, signaling a significant elevation of the Philippines' presence in the global futsal arena.

With this newfound confidence and experience under their belts, the Filipina5 are already shifting their focus to the future.

Their next major target is a long-awaited return to the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, scheduled for Thailand in 2025. This return will mark their first appearance at the regional multi-sport event in 14 years, underscoring the team's commitment to building on the momentum generated by their historic World Cup debut and cementing the new era of Philippine women's futsal.
